We are proud to have approved two grant requests for funding in 2005
thus far:
The
EMQ Children & Family Services’ Addiction Prevention Program
in the Santa Clara County helping students, teachers, and
parents at over twenty junior and senior high schools address,
minimize and correct substance abuse problems. The mission of
EMQ VIP League is to attack this problem head-on by intervening
before addiction takes hold. This grant impacts the program in
Redwood Middle School. This grant was donor directed in the
amount of $5,000 and matched by the foundation.

The SMSCF Scholarship Award
to a 2005 graduating senior continuing on to a four year college
or university, that resides within the boundaries of Saratoga or
Monte Sereno. Applicants have maintained a cumulative 3.5 GPA
or higher on a 4.0 scale or equivalent. He or she must have
demonstrated participation in co-curricular activities or
sports. In keeping with the core values of the Foundation; the awardee must have also demonstrated at least 40 hours of
community service during the previous year.
